Tribute to Frank
Frazetta Group Art Exhibition
Master Artist Frank Frazetta defined 20th Century Fantasy
Art
Artists were to reinterpret and pay homage to the grand master
of fantasy art Frank Frazetta by creating art that is evocative of Frank's work
but not a carbon copy or literal rendition of it. Frank's
compositions were strong and based on classical principles,
masterpieces of energy and color. Epic and powerful.
Over 300 entries were presented to a judging panel of
industry peers for final selections for inclusion in the exhibition.
Exhibition will run for 3 months. Gallery commission is 25%
with the gallery proceeds being donated to JDRF juvenile
diabetes research foundation for
Frank Frazetta's grand daughter Jessica, who has type 1
juvenile diabetes, in hopes for a cure.

Special Reception &
Benefit Fundraiser:

Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control, a not-for-profit
organization founded to help Chicago's neediest animals.
The Friends foster program, which started in August
of 2009, has already rescued nearly 600 animals, many of which
required extensive medical care or were too young to survive in a
shelter. Friends also partners with local rescues – providing funds
or foster homes when necessary – to help save more lives. In
addition, Friends provides the funding for extra care for the
animals of Chicago Animal Care and Control above and beyond the
City’s resources.
Please join us on Thursday, March 24th for
their Spring Event, “Art for Arf’s Sake!”
There will be food, wine, a great exhibit, a raffle and plenty of
fun. All will benefit Chicago’s
neediest animals! Click on
http://artforarfssakefcacc.eventbrite.com to purchase tickets.
THANKS SO MUCH AND THANKS FROM THE ANIMALS!

The Legendary Frank Frazetta
Frank Frazetta, the fantasy painter and
illustrator whose images of sinewy warriors and lush vixens
graced paperback novels, album covers and comic books for
decades and became something close to the contemporary
visual definition of the sword-and-sorcery genres, died on
May 10th after suffering a stroke the night before. He was
82.
