Christian Pena is a multi-media artist from Chicago, Illinois.
Christian studied at the American Academy of Art. He uses his art as
a tool to document the never-ending Halloween parade that marches
through the
wrinkles of his brain. He uses themes of horror to mirror and escape
real life. As a child he would have frequent encounters with the
macabre. What else could one expect when your mother stops to
contemplate the
gooey innards laying three feet from it's corpse before going to
dinner.
Growing up, his
imagination grew wild watching classic monster movies, The Twilight
Zone, Alfred Hitchcock and Peewee's Playhouse. He was later
influenced by artists like Bob Ross, Tim Burton and John Kricfalusi.
The spirit of Halloween
oozes through his veins. Halloween reveals that life is an adventure
and you can't let the unknown stop you from exploring. Through his
work, he wants to illustrate the fun and beauty of the dark and
spooky.
