The Art of Ronnie Werner |
![]() |
Ronnie Werner was born in Wisconsin in 1965.
Raised by wolves, Ronnie learned how to draw from comic book masters Jack
Kirby, George Tuska and Steve Ditko though he never actually got to meet
them. He learned about pretty naked girls from the Playboy magazines his
dad hid under the dresser. In the summer of 1977 he moved from Wisconsin
to Oregon and discovered Heavy Metal Magazine. In 1980 at the age of 15 he
and his buddy snuck into the first Heavy Metal movie.
A very brief stint at the Art Institute of
Chicago and another at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, threatened to
make him a legitimate artist, but in the end he stayed true to his first
loves, pretty naked girls and comic books. He is divorced and lives in Portland, Oregon with his teenage daughter and retarded dog. Credits:
