Daniel Kiessler was born in Duesseldorf, West Germany in
1978.
He started his career about 12 years ago as a freelance
illustrator, working for the international comic book industry and
various role- playing games developers.
He travelled many times to America and visited the cities
of Los Angeles, San Diego and New York for inspiration to his work and
to study the local art scenes.
Kiessler worked as a cover artist and inker on titles
like Witchblade, Tomb Raider, The Darkness, Purgatori and the Haunted
and also published his creator owned comic book series „intravenous:
dead new world“.
He also illustrated various DVD- covers, posters,
skateboard designs and book covers for several pubishers and agencies.
He studied art and also lectures at an academy.
Since 5 years, the central motif of his artistic work has
become the beauty of the female body, shown in many photo- realistic
drawings.
The main theme in his work is the female form in
combination with tattoos, piercings, latex and leather and everything
else that gives his works a rather darker touch in comparison to the
classic pin- up theme.
His erotic works have been featured in various magazines
including „Erotic & Art“, „Artcore“, „Erotic Signature:
The World’s Greatest Erotic Art of Today Vol.2“.
Kiessler’s new artbook „The Art of Daniel Kiessler“ has
just been released by SQP. It includes a selection of his photo-
realistic graphite works from 2004- 2008, a series of studies and
preliminary drawings.
