My work is modern pinup artwork. I have tried to model my work after
Varga, Elvgren, and Petty, except I didn't want to merely repeat them and
their work. I needed to find a way to bring something new to the table. I
had to break it down. Artwork, to me, is basically made up of 3
components: subject, response, and process. My influences introduced me
to the subject, and my response to their artwork is what I'd like to
re-create, but what separates me from them is the process. I have a
different "brush." All of my artwork is vector-based computer
illustrations (made with Adobe
> Flash, and Illustrator). I chose computer graphics because it allows me
a level of control that traditional mediums don't. My work is controlled
with mathematic precision. The end result is a very clean, sculptural,
and pure artwork. My goal was to evolve pinup, and I think I have
achieved that.
