Sinisa Banovic is a illustrator and comic book artist. He is a member of
a comic art
school “Djordje Lobachev”, and a member of comic art community S.O.K.O.
studios. He graduated at “Faculty of applied art” in year 2005, in
Belgrade, at the department of applied graphics and illustrations.
Since then, his professional career includes illustrating numerous
publications, such as fairy tales books, novels, newspapers, magazines,
comic books and illustrated history book editions.
Currently, Sinisha is working on the independent comic book projects of
mythological nature, such as “The primal race”, “Prince Lipen” and
others.
He has been awarded several times for his work on illustrations and
comic art, and the most prestige award has been the grand prix at the
“5th international comic art showroom”, in 2007.
In his earlier years, Sinisa was under strong influence of Disney and
European caricature style, and wasn't that interested into realistic
drawing, until he saw Mr. Frazetta's work, which changed his artistic
perception forever. Since then, he considers Frank Frazetta's art as his
everlasting inspiration.
