Release for "Nu
Art en Noir et Blanc"
International
photographer Jerry Harke, a long-time resident of Washington, D.C., will
be on hand to sign books and to meet attendees at a gala reception at
Chicago’s Gallery Provocateur where art from his book will be on exhibit
for three months beginning Feb. 14
Harke has
published a new fine art nude photography book titled Nu Art en Noir et
Blanc. The book is a treasure trove featuring hundreds of
models from around the world in beautiful studio and outdoor settings.
Nu Art en Noir et Blanc is 408 pages of stunning imagery and features
ten years of Harke’s work. It also includes a guest gallery of work
presented by French photographer, JeanVallette who is both Harke’s
long-time friend and mentor.
Harke is now
working on a sixth book, a tribute to the beauty of redheads titled
Real Redheads au Naturel … at Home. His first book of photography was
titled The Edwardian Lawn Dress: Gentle and Timeless and featured
numerous models wearing dresses made popular during the Edwardian era.
His second book, In Sappho’s Secret Garden: A Thesaurus of Love, is
based on the ancient Greek poet and lyrist, Sappho. The images in that
book were shot in locations around the world featuring 77 models.
Harke is also
an author of two works of fiction. Lock Knot tells a story of
international espionage during World War II and takes place in 1945. The
second novel, On Hell’s Doorstep is a “depression-era” story set in
the High Plains area of the U.S. Although fictional, the book features
real-life criminals such as John Dillinger and tells the story of a farm
family murdered en-masse in 1935.
Harke is also
the owner of a publishing house and produces films. His books are all
published under the Marigot Publishing House, Inc. label and are available
